Cartmel horse race course events and racecourse info

Horseracing has taken place on Cartmel racecourse since 1845.

Cartmel is a wonderful Jumps course set in the beautiful scenery of the Lake District.

There are festivals of racing over the Spring and August Bank Holidays, as well as a barbecue raceday in July. Many come for these events and make a weekend of it or even a longer holiday break. There's a great atmosphere and a traditional fun fair is just one of the added extras.

Course Details National Hunt Course:
Left-handed, sharp and undulating, with stiff fences and a 4f run-in for chases. Circuit 1m.
