Lingfield horse racing course events and racecourse info

Horse Racing Tips UK IRELANDLingfield Park racecourse is one of the oldest established premier
race courses in the UK, known as 'leafy Lingfield' because of its gorgeous
setting in the heart of the Surrey countryside. Lingfield Park is the only all weather Polytrack course in Britain and offers year-round Flat racing.

Lingfield also has a turf track, staging Jump meetings from December through to the end of March. The new Polytrack put in over the last few years has rejuvenated the racing at the track. It is now attracting the best of Horses as the surface is so true. The Polytrack success has opened the way for more such all weather tracks to be opened around the country.

Notable Races Chartwell Fillies' Stakes
The Chartwell Fillies’ Stakes is a Group 3 flat horse race in the United Kingdom for three-year-old and above thoroughbred fillies run over a distance of 7 furlongs (1,408 metres) at Lingfield Park Racecourse in May. It was first run as a Listed race in 1994 and contested for the first time as a Group 3 in 2004. It has been run as the totepool Chartwell Fillies’ Stakes since 2004. It is named after Chartwell, the home of Sir Winston Churchill.

Lingfield Derby Trial
The Lingfield Derby Trial is a Group 3 flat horse race in the United Kingdom for three-year-old thoroughbred colts and geldings run over a distance of 1 mile 3 furlongs and 106 yards (2,310 metres) at Lingfield Park Racecourse in May. It is one of the main trial races for the Epsom Derby, and the undulating, left-handed course at Lingfield bears a close resemblance to the course at Epsom.

Lingfield Oaks Trial
The Lingfield Oaks Trial is a Listed flat horse race in the United Kingdom for three-year-old thoroughbred fillies. It is run over a distance of 1 mile 3 furlongs and 106 yards (2,310 metres) at Lingfield Park Racecourse in May. It is a trial race for the Epsom Oaks, and recent winners of both races have been User Friendly (1992), Lady Carla (1996) and Ramruma (1999). The 1989 winner Aliysa also finished first at Epsom but was subsequently disqualified. The race was downgraded to its present Listed status in 1986, prior to which it was classed as a Group 3 race.

Winter Derby
The Winter Derby is a Group 3 flat horse race in the United Kingdom for four-year-old and above thoroughbreds run over a distance of 1 mile 2 furlongs (2,013 metres) at Lingfield Park Racecourse in mid March. It was first run in 1998 and attained Group 3 status in 2006, thus becoming the earliest Pattern race in the British flat racing calendar. It is one of three British Pattern races which are now regularly contested on an all-weather surface, along with the September Stakes and the Sirenia Stakes at Kempton Park. However, the first all-weather Pattern race to take place in Britain was the Silver Trophy Stakes when it was transferred to Lingfield from Ascot in July 2005.
